My 2016 Kadjar doesn't have proximity lock/unlock and if it did I would turn it off, as I have for the hands free lock/unlock using the button on the door handle. Two colleagues at work have had things stolen out of their cars, fortunately not the cars themselves, by some oiks using relay boosting to gain access.
Unfortunately using the handsfree lock and unlock makes you still susceptible to the relay boost, I keep my remote in a shielded pouch which blocks the signal when the remote is not required.
