I changed mine with an auto dimming mirror with built in screen, before the days when I discovered how to plumb a reverse camera in to the Rlink2.

I used one from AliExpress were I could choose the correct bracket to suit what was there already, it came wit a loom to run down to the footwell to pick up power and connect video, it’s still in now and I use it for birds eye camera system, with side road views when the indicators are activated
 

I bought a mirror off eBay. The clip was there but the loom was cut so I'll have to rewire it. Do you know of any YouTube videos I can watch that shows how to run and connect the loom to power?

How did you upgrade the R-link to ver.9?

I replaced my stock radio/bluetooth with brand new R-Link2 from Kadjar phase 2 (2019-2022) and then updated to version 9. 

was it easy to do? what was the price?

Multimedia R-Link2 = 500 euro
Air conditioning module = 100 euro
(acquired brand new from factory in France)

Installation is challenging. My friend is Renault certified "mechanic" and has all the wiring diagrams and configuration files necessary to do this.

Wiring diagrams are used in order to connect all the necessary wires based on model of Kadjar (trim level) you have. Then multimedia module needs to be unlocked which can be done only with official Renault diagnostic tool.
Next is configuration of settings and sync between digital dashboard and multimedia.
Last step is connecting air condition module in order to use buttons and "wheels".
